Access Academy ("we", "us", "our") is a registered non-profit organisation (NPO 333-861-NPO) operating under the Non-profit Organisations Act, 1997. We are committed to protecting the personal information of everyone who interacts with us, in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 ("POPIA").

We collect personal information from programme applicants, enquirers, and supporters, including:
- Full name and surname
- South African ID number
- Phone number and email address
- Residential area or township
- Current employment status
- Any additional information voluntarily provided
From funding partners and organisational enquirers we collect name, contact details, and the nature of your enquiry.
3. Why We Collect It
We collect and process personal information to assess eligibility for and administer our training programmes, to communicate with applicants and supporters, to maintain a database of interested candidates for future cohorts, and to respond to funding and partnership enquiries. We process your information lawfully and only for the purposes stated here.
4. How We Share It
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share it with operational partners and delivery platforms solely for the purpose of programme administration and graduate onboarding. All parties with whom we share personal information are required to handle it responsibly and in accordance with applicable data protection law.
5. How Long We Keep It
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, and in accordance with any applicable legal or contractual retention requirements. Applicant database records are retained for up to three years from the date of application.
6. Your Rights
Under POPIA you have the right to be informed, to access your information, to request correction or deletion, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator. To exercise any of these rights contact our Information Officer at train@accessacademy.co.za.
7. Security
Our website is secured with SSL encryption. Access to personal information is restricted to authorised personnel only. We take reasonable measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure.
8. Cookies
Our website does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics tools.
